Fall is coming. I have mixed feelings about this.

I love fall and everything about it thrills me….but on the other hand, that means summer is really ending.

Ehh who am I kidding? I didn’t do anything crazy exciting this summer…I can’t wait for fall! 🙂

I think it’s good to know what the trends are but I don’t think you should follow them all. Leave what you don’t like. Take what you do. It’s all about having an actual style and not just looking “trendy.” 13 year old girls are trendy. You want to be stylish. I think this quote sums it up nicely:

Seasons-may-change-personal-style-passing-trend

Trends usually start on the runway and that’s how people decide what’s going to be popular. Some runway fashion can get a bit “out there” at times, so I’m bringing you the hottest fall trends for 2015 straight from the runway and ways to make it work better for everyday life!

Faux Fur Attack

I bet you remember fur poking its head last fall. The fur vest might be the one you think of first. This fall they’re calling out a full fledge attack. It’s on shoes, coats, vests, scarves, and even arm cuffs! The look may be a bit much for some people. You can tone it down by picking just one item of clothing that is going to have fur on it.

 Plaid

Ahh plaid shirts. Football. Cider. Brisk fresh air. The most obvious plaid is the red flannel shirt…but why not get a little creative with it?

Thigh highs + Sweaters + Gloves

I’m combing 3 fall trends here. It works if they all aren’t eye catching. Cozy sweaters are my fav and I’m convinced they will never go out of style. You have to wear gloves anyways, so why not invest in a cute leather pair to replace your poofy snow ones? Thigh high boots might be a little too adventurous for some people. To make it work for every day life, pick out materials that are a little “safer.” For example, avoid leather & corset lace ups.

Tights+Leggings+Mini Skirts

I’m combining 3 styles again here too. Bold leggings + tights are something you’ll see a lot I bet. The old fashioned mini skirts are making a comeback too, so why not show off your tights with a mini skirt?

Flared jeans+Fringe

With the crazy popularity around skinny jeans it’s hard to imagine there’d ever be another jean. This fall, flared jeans are making their 80s comeback. Fringe was a huge summer Coachella trend, but it’s not over yet.

I’ve been wondering about fall fashions! I liked what you said about being trendy/having style. I was in Plato’s Closet today and people were wearing what was “trendy” but they didn’t make it into their own style, so they all looked the same. Thanks for bringing this closer to home a.k.a. my closet and showing the practical things to wear!

True! I wonder how this fall/winter we can rock the skinny jeans, boots, and sweaters without looking like every single girl in the world!

I love the Lauren Hutton comment. Why dress to live up to someone else’s standards? Why look like everyone else? We should enjoy our clothes! (I think all the girls in our family do, lol.)
