As we have had many snow storms in Iowa already, it seems more accurate to say it’s actually winter now. With winter comes many fashion trends…one of them being wearing all white, or, your “winter whites.”
There used to be rules about when you could and couldn’t wear white…and those rules don’t apply anymore. If anything, it’s really fashionable to wear white in winter. And don’t just stop at white…but wear all white too.
Some people stick to the rules and won’t include white in their winter wardrobe (that’s totally fine), but for those that are fashion rebels here are some tips to help you pull it off…because it can be a little tricky.

Here’s what you WANT to do:
-mix different shades of whites, neutrals, and creams
-wear different textures
Here are some examples below:
1. Mix different shades of whites, neutrals, and creams
This outfit is pretty simple. You have white pants, an off white sweater, nude/brown heels, and nude bag. Try to avoid getting all matchy-matchy.
Layering can take a boring outfit to one that has more interest. Also, your body will probably thank you for all those extra layers. It’s really easy to layer in the winter because you were going to wear a hat, gloves, and scarf anyways. Just switch them out for ones in a beautiful neutral tone.
3. Wear different textures
Just like layering, wearing different textures makes an outfit more interesting. Here we have a basic cotton tank, a wool cardigan, and a cashmere scarf.
Part of wearing all white is to have an effortless, chic look without tons of accessories. Though your all white outfit could be a canvas for that more attention grabbing coat or poncho.
This look is supposed to be clean…so less is more.
If you saw in all the examples, each outfit was accessorized with a nude/neutral shoe and gold accented jewelry. Nude is always a good color for shoes and keep your jewelry in the white/neutral/gold color range. Such as diamond studs. Those will look very classy with this outfit.
I gave you some tips on what you should do for wearing white in winter so it’s only fitting I give you a couple “no’s”, though I believe in the end wear what you want and what you think looks good.
-Wear white shoes with your outfit
-Wear white tights…stick with white jeans
-Wear something ill-fitting. White shows everything
-Over accessorize…keep it clean and simple
