Did you catch my last post about different ways to wear plaid for the holiday season? In this post I’m going to do a quick overview of all the holiday party trends and some ideas on how to wear them.

1. Sequins
Yes, I have to start off with a holiday favorite: sparkles!! People will probably tell you to tone it down by wearing it in smaller pieces, but I am all for an all-over sequin outfit.

2. Fur & Feathers
I’m combing two here, because they’re pretty close to the same thing. I’d be happy if I could add some fur and feathers to my every day outfits, but I don’t go places everyday that warrants that fancy of an outfit, so good thing holiday parties do happen.

3. LRD (little red dress)
It’s like the LBD (little black dress), but more fun and eye catching for the parties. These dresses will look great with some black accessories.

4. Velvet
I’m loving velvet so much this season. I even wore my own velvet dress to a fashion show I recently attended. It’s soft, luxurious, and full of the holiday spirit (who knew a dress could do that much? ;)) It doesn’t have to be a full on outfit, but could be as simple as a shirt or shoes.

5. Plaid
Plaid is a big holiday trend and instead of talking on about it I’ll just direct you to my last post.  But I can’t go on to the next one without giving you some gorgeous inspiration 🙂

6. Metallic
Pretty much the sister of sparkles and for those that like some shine without being too much “out there.” To avoid looking like a robot, head to toe metallic is probably not the best idea. Stick to wearing it in smaller pieces, like a skirt.

7. Lace
Lace is so delicate and pretty and such a classic piece that you can never go wrong. I’ll take a lace dress in every color please! Though I do have a black one that I feel so fancy in.

I can’t just choose one favorite from this list, because I think they are all magical (is that too dramatic?), but either way there’s just something so fun about getting all fancy!

Enjoy your parties ladies!
