weeks 13-26
Week 27? Third Trimester? Is that you? Now that I’m officially in the last leg of this pregnancy, it’s time for a second-trimester recap!
You can check out the first-trimester recap here. I joke that I shouldn’t be your “feel good” pregnancy follow. I’m not someone that looovesss being pregnant and I try to be honest with you without sounding ungrateful. It’s a hard line to walk! But with that being said, all in all, this second trimester wasn’t that bad. It went by really quickly and the worst things were just your normal body aches.
There’s a chance that this could be my last pregnancy. When I focus on that, I find myself trying not to wish it away and I think more about what a privilege this is to be able to carry life. I may even be a little more excited to meet this little guy than I was the first time around not because there’s anything wrong with Will, but there are fewer fears since we’ve done this before. Sure, every kid is different, but I know how fast the baby stage goes (once you’re out of it haha) and I know that the lack of sleep will be hard but we’ll get through it. I’m super determined to slow down (as best I can) and make the most of the baby stage when he arrives.
Oh, and I have not bought a single thing yet! Truthfully, we don’t need much and I’m not one to stock up. I would much rather buy things as the need arises instead of filling my home with things I don’t need. I know everyone is different though! We already have clothes (same season too woohoo) and most of the essentials leftover from Will. We will need a double stroller though and I’m looking into a different night sleeping situation as well. Some wants include neutral pacifiers, a Moses basket, and a neutral blanket. We have lots of “blue” so I wouldn’t mind a few more neutral things!

First Trimester Recap
Second Trimester Recap
Food cravings: Nothing in particular. Just give me all the food haha.
Food aversions: Nothing!
Mood: Overall joyful.
Sleep: Really not great! Will is going through this “fun” phase where he keeps getting out of his bed for no good reason and I’m being woken up 3-4 times a night. Once I wake up I can’t fall back asleep. It’s not strange for me to get up at 2:30 am and start my workday. And some nights I’ll go to bed at 7 pm. It’s just so all over the place but thankfully, I’m able to get through the day and I know once the baby is here it’s just going to be all off anyway so this is practice. 😉 If I take a sleep aid then it really helps! Sometimes I forget or think I can do without and I always pay for it the next day though haha.
Queasy or sick: Thankfully nothing for the past couple of months!
Highs: Lots of highs! My business did better than expected given the tough year of 2020, the holidays were great, and I’m really looking forward to the future.
Lows: My body has been extremely tired with the lack of sleep and all the home projects we’ve been doing. Though we’ve hired some out, we did do some ourselves and a lot of them have been very physically demanding for me. But thankfully that’s over. Not that our home is done yet, but we’re not going to take on anything that’s too physical anymore. I just can’t really help in my state and Titus doesn’t have the time to do everything himself!
Looking forward to: Lots! I have some exciting business plans for 2021, I’m hopeful that traveling overseas will become a possibility this year because we want to take some family trips, and I can’t believe we’ll have another little guy in just 3ish months!
