I’ve never had the chance to take my two nieces away for a weekend trip until this weekend and it was so much fun!!
On Black Friday we picked them up and had a fun night time car trip to Dubuque. This involved lots of story telling, loud singing, and playing “I Spy” in the dark.
It was getting late when we finally made it home to Dubuque, but I promised the girls s’mores so we had a couple with sleepytime tea after getting comfy in our pjs.
Saturday morning after waking up, the girls helped put out the cinnamon rolls.
Mya wrote the schedule out for the day 😉
We went shopping to a couple stores and stopped at the Humane Society on the way home. There were some pretty scary and not so cute looking dogs but Mya loved them all and kept wanting to take pictures of them.
We went home for lunch and relax time. As Cora napped, Mya and I made some cool crafts out of sticks. She helped me put out Christmas decorations and we watched Christmas with the Kranks!
It’s very sad to say, but I did fall asleep before the girls did. Needless to say, it was an early bedtime that night.
Sunday we went to church where Mya learned about “miracles” and Cora learned “nothing.”
What a great weekend with my nieces. Love and miss these girls already!
