Wondering what to wear this week? Consider your outfit planning done. Here’s a new week’s worth of stylish (if I do say so myself) autumn outfit ideas, all based on what I wore over seven days. Use these looks as inspiration to recreate, or pull bits and pieces from each one to style something that feels completely you. As we head into the busy season of holidays and everything that comes with them, let “What do I wear?” be one less thing you have to think about.

1. turtleneck + mini skirt + scarf coat + tights + boots

Sunday: church

J.Crew sent over some lovely fall and winter pieces, and in that package was this gorgeous scarf coat. I’ve been seeing attached scarves on tops and coats everywhere lately – it’s definitely a growing fall/winter trend! This coat is on the pricier side, but it feels incredibly luxurious.

A little hack to get the look? Find a matching scarf in the same color as your favorite coat. As long as the shades are very close and the scarf is long enough to drape (that’s key for an elegant look), you can easily recreate the style.

Though the outfit pieces are pretty simple (aside from the coat – it’s a stunner!), I especially love these fall colors. Even though it’s not red, burgundy, or orange, the mix of chocolate brown, black, and camel feels rich, warm, and perfectly autumnal in its own way.

2. white button up + denim vest + houndstooth mini skirt + tights + loafers + socks

Sunday: Friendsgiving

Same day, but time for an outfit change! I’m someone who loves having things on my calendar because I look forward to styling new outfits – and seeing people, of course. That is, until my schedule gets too full and suddenly all I want to do is stay home. What can I say? I’m an introvert. And if you are, too, I’m sure you can relate to being stuck on that loop. Back to the outfit.

Preppy outfits with a touch of academia? Yes, please! I wore this look to a recent Friendsgiving, and I loved embracing all the fall vibes. A plaid or houndstooth skirt (it doesn’t have to be mini) is a great piece to style for the autumn season – especially with sheer tights. While there’s nothing wrong with opaque tights, sheer ones are perfect for this in-between weather stage and add a fresh, current feel without distracting from your outfit. Just a nice thin coat to skim over your legs!

For a fun, layered look on top, add a vest over a white button-up. It’s equal parts preppy and sophisticated.

3. joggers + white tee + camel wool coat + sneakers + tote bag + baseball cap + sunglasses

Monday: School Drop Off

I might not show as many casual outfits in these personal outfit posts, but rest assured, I love a good casual look too. I saw this cute jogger outfit on Pinterest and, what can I say – I was influenced. I spotted a similar combo – a wool coat paired with joggers – and instantly loved the juxtaposition of casual and chic, as well as the practicality of it. Because let’s be real, sometimes we just want to throw on some sweats and call it a day!

What I love about this particular pair is that not only are they neutral, versatile, and comfortable, but they also look great dressed up. Some casual pieces don’t translate well when styled up (especially anything too athletic-looking), but the material and clean design of these joggers make them just right. I’ve styled them already with both sneakers and loafers, and the little touches of elevated pieces – chic totes, classic coats, timeless sunglasses – add just the right amount of polish to a casual outfit without sacrificing comfort or style.

4. turtleneck + denim shirt + jeans + belt + ankle boots + barn jacket

Tuesday: the office

As the weather gets cooler, layering becomes essential – and this outfit is a great way to do it without feeling bulky. The key is to start thin. A fitted turtleneck creates the perfect base for a denim shirt. Unbutton a few buttons to show the layer underneath and keep the outfit from looking too stuffy. Pair it with jeans for a denim-on-denim moment (don’t worry – there’s nothing Britney circa 2001 about this look). A black belt and black ankle boots not only break up the denim but also create a nice, coordinated touch.

For the final layer, add a beautiful long barn coat. This one in particular is heavier than it looks online – just right for adding warmth when the crisp days of fall have passed but before the true heaviness of winter sets in.

5. striped sweater + camel wool coat + jeans + ankle boots

Wednesday: running errands

Okay, admittedly, I didn’t wear this on Wednesday – but it would make a great casual-chic midweek outfit. While joggers or leggings are perfect for running errands, sometimes you want to feel a little more elevated. Sure, they say you never know who you’re going to run into, but I say: why not dress well for yourself? A nice outfit is a great way to pull you out of a midweek slump.

Starting with cropped flare jeans and ankle boots – one of the best jean-and-boot combos, in my opinion. I love an ankle boot with a small block heel; there’s just something about it that instantly makes you feel pulled together. Now onto the top: stripes are classic, effortless, and require zero overthinking. They look great on their own, but topping the outfit with a beautiful camel wool coat not only complements the striped sweater color-wise, but also matches its timeless, polished vibe.

6. leopard print dress + lady jacket + ballet flats + pearl accessories

Thursday: the office

I go to my MCO office a few days a week, and it’s the perfect time for me to have fun with fashion. Whether I’m going casual with jeans or chic with tweed, the dress code I set for myself is simple: have fun and feel good!

If you want to elevate your leopard print, this is the look for you. While I love wearing leopard in all forms and styles, it’s especially fun to contrast this “wild” statement print with something chic. For a polished twist that would make Coco Chanel proud, pair your leopard print with cap-toe ballet flats, a tweed lady jacket, and pearl accessories.

7. long tee + leggings + sweater + socks + loafers + wool coat

Friday: school drop off + home

Look good while dropping the kiddo off at school, then race back home to be with the other kiddo. Yep – that’s exactly what this look says. Whether you’re in the kid-drop-off stage or not, I think we can all agree that we want an outfit that feels good at home and is appropriate for heading out – whether it’s errands or a quick coffee run – without having to completely change. That’s why I love this outfit formula!

Start with a sleek pair of black leggings. Then slip on an oversized tee (or borrow a long-fit T-shirt from your husband like I did). Not only does it provide extra bum coverage, but the white peeking out adds a nice visual touch. A cozy sweater on top keeps things comfortable at home without looking sloppy. And for heading out, a long wool coat and penny loafers are your secret weapons for instant sophistication!

8. white cotton poplin pajamas

Saturday: in bed

My real Saturday outfit was… blah. I was feeling under the weather, and while I’m all for authenticity, no one needs to see my “sick clothes” (read: my husband’s sweatshirt and sweatpants). But for the sake of finishing this post, let me offer an alternative – this chic pajama moment. Because we all deserve to schedule in a little beauty to elevate our weekend mornings.

Why not take the morning slower, enjoy your coffee in bed, or set up a cute croissant moment on a secondhand tray and have breakfast under the covers? A crisp yet comfortable pair of pajamas is exactly what you need to elevate your mornings – reminding yourself that romanticizing everyday life is what makes it beautiful.
