Fall and boots go together like uggs and girls with their pumpkin spice lattes. There are always some new boot styles to try and old ones to bring back. Who has the space (and the money) to have a gazillion different pairs of boots?! Well, the other day I came up with a stupidly easy way to get 2 different boot styles for one and both of these styles are super trendy! You can thank me later.
Over the knee boots are one of my favorite boot styles because they instantly elevate your look and they strike a good balance between dressy and casual.
Slouchy boots are an old 80’s look that’s been coming back recently. I had a pair a long time ago but got rid of them (whyyyyyyy) because I thought they were out of style. Well, they were. But just for that season haha. If you haven’t learned by now, don’t get rid of anything! Learn from my mistakes. It will come back and you’ll be way ahead of the times.
Okay, so why does this matter?
Well here’s the super-easy fall boot hack…
SCRUNCH YOUR BOOTS!
We went from over-the-knee boots to slouchy boots in about two seconds. Now you have an almost entirely new style without spending any extra money. Plus, you can’t get much faster than a new look in 2 seconds!
oversized blazer (similar) | pants (similar) | boots (similar)
Okay, so this fall boot hack was new to me, but has anyone else thought of this before?
Now it has me thinking about what other easy outfit hacks there are out there. Hmm…I’m smelling the makings of a new post. Oh nope. That was just my friend’s pumpkin spice latte #basic.

Haha will do! 😉 Now I just need a little gold nugget to hit me in the head and inspire me haha
Fall is really a time when my boots come out. I too love the tall boots as they lend an air of class to your outfit. The pair you are wearing looks nice on you. They look good straight up or slouched.
Thanks! Can’t look left or right without seeing some boots out there haha
I was already needing a pair of OTK boots and now I’m really needing a pair. I don’t know what I didn’t think of scrunching them down. Also, love how you styled the boots!
Thank you! I love my OTK boots- I wear them all the time!
This is a genius idea. Two boots for the price of one. I’m always hesitant to get rid of my shoes, especially boots because you never know when styles will come back into fashion.
You’re so right. I get so mad at myself when I get rid of something and it comes back! Have to buy it all over again haha.
Haha, my OTK boots slouch unintentionally because they always slide off – even the ones that tie in the back! I love that that look is chic now!
Love your idea to make these boots more versatile. Great post babe.
love this easy tips babe! love those boots!
Thanks, Whitney!
YES! I especially love the, “Don’t get rid of anything!”. Girl. Do you know how many denim skirts I got rid of from my high school days? Now they’re totally back! I’m in my 20s so I could have totally still worn them lol.
Haha I totally get ya! It’s the worst when you have to buy it all over again… 😉
