Are you wanting to take more risks with your wardrobe this new year? Mixing prints is a bold, innovative way to do that. It may seem a little daunting to try at first, so here are some visual ideas to help get your wheels turning!

Here are 5 ready-made outfit combos for mixing prints to get you started:

1. stripes + plaid + leopard
The plaid can get layered or tied around the waist. The solid anorak jacket adds an anchor to this busy look.

2. polka dots + floral
A very feminine look and perfect for welcoming spring!

3. stripes + floral
When in doubt, stripes and floral can always be your go-to.

4. check + leopard
This outfit would be great for either fall or winter.

5. polka dots + stripes
Work appropriate because it’s stylish yet without being too out there.

This list is a great starting point, but it doesn’t have to end here. In the end wear what you feel most comfortable in, but don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone every once in a while! You never know what kind of style you’ll create and end up loving.

It was almost 3 years ago when I originally wrote about this same topic, but I figured we were due for an update! To sum up all posts, here are some easy points to remember:

  • Stripes & floral is a no-fail classic combo
  • Different prints can go together when one is large and the other small. Just look for the same color family
  • Leopard print is treated as a neutral and base
  • Polka dots & stripes always work too

Are you going to be bold and mix some prints this year?
