I’m wearing the Quince Mongolian Cashmere Crewneck Sweater in Heather Grey, and yes it’s very soft and truly does feel luxurious on your skin.
Made from 100% Grade-A Mongolian cashmere, the cashmere to make these sweaters was sourced from goats in inner Mongolia.
It’s true to size – I’m wearing my normal size small for a fitted (but not tight) look. If I wanted a looser, more oversized fit, I would size up to a size medium.
It’s very lightweight, so not only have I worn this in both cold and warmer weather, but I’ve worn this draped over a sweater and tied around my shoulders too.
Though I prefer the lighter color of grey, you are not limited in finding your preferred color. With 18 color options, you can choose anything from black to ivory.
The sweater has a good length too – you can tuck it into bottoms or wear it hanging out normally.
When it comes to building a capsule wardrobe, you want clothing items that are going to pull their weight in your wardrobe and offer more than one styling option – this sweater offers the option for regular wear for all seasons!
From the fit to the color to the feel, I have worn and loved my Quince sweater for a long time, however, there are some potential downsides to consider.
How to Care for a Cashmere Sweater
The downside of a cashmere sweater is that you can’t just throw it in a washing machine and forget about it for 60 minutes. Though you don’t have to baby it, it does require special care.
To keep your sweater looking its best, it’s recommended to gently wash (no rubbing) it in cold water by hand with baby shampoo or neutral soap.
This delicate approach means no tumble dryer either. (I learned the hard way by heat-drying an Everlane alpaca sweater. I then had to give it to my then 4-year-old. Ouch, wallet.)
This sweater is best dried at room temperature by lying on a flat surface.

Quince Cashmere Sweater Alternative
I have children (young boys if that tells you anything) and I still wear my “nice” clothes around them, but if hand washing and air drying would bother you, then cashmere might not be the best choice for you.
However, you can look into Quince’s Cotton Boyfriend Crew Sweater instead. Though it may not have the same snuggable fabric, it’s made from 100% organic cotton, is the same price, and has the same crewneck style. But this one can be laundered in the washer and dryer machine!

Let’s review another one of Quince’s sweaters!
I’ll admit, at first glance, I wasn’t sure how I felt about this Mongolian Cashmere Wrap Sweater. I thought the shape looked too boxy and truthfully, I’m still figuring out the right way to tie it for a fit that flatters my figure.
However, since my first wear (and there have still been plenty), I could instantly tell it’s the same quality cashmere. Its looser fit feels like being wrapped up in a cozy hug.
I also like that this is two-for-one – it can be a cashmere sweater or a cashmere cardigan since it’s designed to be worn open or tied. Plus, you can knot the tie in the front or tie it in a bow to the side – there are options!
I’m wearing a size small and it’s true to size – with an intentional looser fit in general – especially in the back.
With fewer color options and at a higher price point than the cashmere sweater, it may not be as essential to your wardrobe, however, it’s still a great price for cashmere.
Plus, this sweater cardigan is versatile enough that you could pair it with matching pants for elevated loungewear, style it with a silk skirt for the office, or wear it open over a tee.
Quince Clothing Review: Sizing
Another potential downside is that Quince currently only offers sizes xs-xl. So, if you find yourself below or above that size range, this might not be the place for you.
However, when it comes to the sizing fit, thankfully, everything I’ve tried seems to run true to size. (But you can always double-check their product page for sizing information.)

I have never had any problems receiving my Quince orders. Standard shipping is free and delivery time is around 6-9 business days.
Though I haven’t had to use it with clothing, Quince does have a generous return policy. As long as clothes are returned unworn and unwashed, you have 365 days to return them.
Once I returned some bedding because I got the wrong size and I didn’t have any issues with the return.
