How do you know what your clothing essentials are? Put simply, they’re the items you reach for again and again. Whether it’s a specific item (your favorite jeans) or a general clothing style (you have to have basic t-shirts), your version of a clothing essential makes up not only your wardrobe, but your personal style aesthetic too. Need some ideas? Get inspired by the clothing essentials the MCO team can’t live without!

old navy jeans

I live in jeans – I wear the same pair from Old Navy almost every day. They have just the right amount of stretch to provide comfort and mobility as I chase around my toddlers all day, but they’re also high-waisted, so they provide a bit of tummy control for my post-baby body.

pepper bra

The IBTC. If you don’t know what that stands for, then you’re not in the club. 😉 If you’re not well-endowed up top, then let me introduce you to Pepper. I’ve been getting targeted ads for a while now (how do they know?) but I took the plunge, even though one bra cost more than all of my others combined. Well, the rest is history as they say. I instantly threw out all my other bras in favor of these- the ones that will make you look and feel your best. Can’t live without them now. Don’t know why I even tried!

blue dress

I like any and all dresses. I don’t discriminate. Dresses are 99% of my wardrobe in the summer. I buy them anywhere and everywhere. This was my most recent purchase.

ballet flats with chain

I’ve worn a lot of ballet flats in the past, but these are the best. I love that it has a wide fit and it has enough room in the front, so my toes don’t get squashed.

white sneakers old navy

I like my white sneakers to be white. So white they almost blind you. That being said it’s hard to keep white shoes clean when walking outside. Because of this, I don’t spend a lot of money on them because I switch them out often. I often go to TJ Maxx or Marshalls and pick one up. I never spend over $30 on them.

madewell jeans

There’s a reason that Madewell’s Perfect Vintage Jeans are a best seller. Because they are, well, pretty perfect. They are one of the most comfortable jeans I own and the vintage mom style is actually flattering. Plus, you can’t beat the impressive 4.5/5 rating.

soma bra

I honestly think if most of my wardrobe disappeared and I had to start over I wouldn’t be sad. Everything is replaceable EXCEPT my Soma bras. Any other ladies out there who hate wearing a bra but want/need the support? This bra doesn’t have an underwire, but it keeps the girls up and gives me a little extra definition. I prefer the nude color so I can wear it under anything, and the best part is it’s so smooth you can’t see your bra lines through tight-fitting clothes!

dark skinny jeans

I got these jeans in 2015 from K-mart, and they still fit even though I’ve gained some weight since then. They are comfortable, stretchy, and versatile!

block heels

My staples are black and nude block heels because they go with everything. My favorites are no longer sold, but here is another great option.

everlane t-shirt

Without a doubt, one of my clothing essentials is basic t-shirts. Stripes, gray, white, and black- I have them all. I love to tuck them into my jeans with some layered necklaces or throw a blazer on over for a casual chic look. For summer, I like the lightweight boxy fit of this Everlane Organic Cotton Box-Cut Tee.
