Each year in early to mid-December, Pantone releases its highly anticipated “Color of the Year” for the upcoming calendar year. And this year, that title has been bestowed on “Cloud Dancer”, a neutral, off-white shade that Pantone describes as “a billowy white imbued with serenity.” The purpose of Pantone’s Color of the Year is to try to encapsulate the global mood, culture, and trends in design, fashion, etc. And here at MCO, you probably already know how much we love neutrals – and that we couldn’t wait to start styling Cloud Dancer into outfit ideas for the upcoming year. However you feel about another neutral being named Color of the Year, you have to admit that it’s a versatile shade with near-endless styling opportunities! Here are 10 ideas that you can wear into the new year, starring the Color of the Year 2026.

1. turtleneck + satin pants + heels + pearl earrings + top-handle bag

Cloud Dancer’s off-white shade is the perfect inspiration for an elegant tonal look. If you’re looking for a clean, fresh winter white, Cloud Dancer is it! And if you want to style a monochromatic look with the Pantone Color of the Year, try mixing and matching textures and fabrics to make your outfit more interesting. Think a cozy knit turtleneck paired with satin pants. Your footwear is also another opportunity to introduce a new texture to your look – like a pair of smooth leather heels in the same shade.

As for jewelry, pearls are a natural choice to style in a look inspired by Cloud Dancer. That dreamy, opalescent look of pearls pairs perfectly with the cool, neutral white. And if you want to add a pop of color while still remaining pretty true to neutrals, try a shade like taupe!

2. tank top + trousers + earrings + oval sunglasses + handbag + heels

When the weather warms up, Cloud Dancer will be easy to style with pieces from your spring wardrobe! As temperatures rise, you can style another monochromatic look with a white tank and pleated pants. Paired with white heels, this look would be great for a spring lunch date or a nice brunch.

Wondering how to accessorize a Cloud Dancer-themed look? Black is a natural choice if you’re going for an elevated, classy vibe. It provides a good amount of contrast to the neutral white shade, but still gives you that timeless, sophisticated vibe you started with the tonal look, all in white.

3. sweatshirt + sweatpants + wool coat + beanie + gloves + sneakers + tote bag

Even though Cloud Dancer makes for the perfect shade to style sleek, classy looks, it’s also great for a more casual aesthetic, too. If you want to elevate your laidback looks, one of the easiest ways is to go for neutral shades of your favorite cozy favorites.

Upgrade your weekend errands or school drop-off outfit with a little help from Cloud Dancer. Pair a coordinating sweatshirt and sweatpants with a crisp white pair of sneakers for a monochromatic look that makes it look like you put more effort into your outfit than you actually did.

As for your accessories, try a black beanie and leather gloves to match your warm wrap coat. Add a slouchy tote bag, and you have the perfect look for showing up for a casual day in chic style, without sacrificing the warm, comfy vibe you’re craving on the coldest days of the year.

4. lady jacket + jeans + earrings + watch + ankle boots + shoulder bag

A lady jacket might just be one of our favorite pieces to style for elegant, Parisian-inspired looks. And a lady jacket in Cloud Dancer is even better! The French love their neutrals, and a lady jacket in this shade is super versatile. It’s easy to pair with both bright colors and other neutrals, which means it will fit right in with a classy French capsule wardrobe.

We’ve covered tonal looks so far, but there are plenty of other easy-to-style ways to wear Cloud Dancer on a regular basis. Pairing it with dark-wash denim is an easy way to translate this color to your everyday looks. Add in a few classic accessories, and you have a casual chic look that would work for the office, a nice restaurant, or your next date night.

5. turtleneck + jeans + fair isle sweater + pearls + sunglasses + ankle boots

Fair Isle pieces have been having a moment this year… and you won’t be hearing any complaints from us! This classic style is trending for all the right reasons – it’s cozy, perfectly seasonal, and comes in a wide variety of both neutrals and bold shades.

If you’re trying to live your best “après-ski” life this winter, let the Pantone Color of the Year 2026 guide you! As your outfit’s base, pair a lettuce-trim turtleneck with white jeans. Then add your Fair Isle cardigan – this black and white neutral style from J.Crew is one of our favorites. (You can spot Carolyn styling it here.)

Add some sleek leather ankle boots, a leather bag, pearls, and sunglasses to finish off the look that’s perfect for relaxing in a ski resort’s lounge or venturing out to do a little holiday shopping in style.

6. burgundy coat + turtleneck + headband + mini skirt + tights + mary janes

Burgundy is another color that’s been everywhere lately, and although it wasn’t named Pantone’s Color of the Year 2026, it pairs really well with the shade that did receive that title! The rich, deep warmth of burgundy offers the perfect contrast to Cloud Dancer’s bright, crisp neutral.

If you love that classy, old-money style for your winter outfits, then you’ll love Cloud Dancer styled with burgundy. These two shades complement each other well in a festive look that’s not too on-theme, and works just as well for a holiday party as it does throughout the rest of the winter season.

7. cardigan + tank top + hoops + mini skirt + socks + loafers + handbag

Because Cloud Dancer pairs so well with almost any other shade, it’s a natural choice for your layered looks when it comes to transitional weather. As spring approaches (eventually, that is), it’s the perfect pop of bright white to make your autumn and winter pieces feel fresh enough for the change in seasons. Think a white mini skirt and tank top worn underneath a navy cable knit cardigan!

Transitional outfits are some of my favorites because, with the right styling, you can wear almost any piece in your closet year-round. A pair of socks and a sweater are the perfect pieces to warm up this outfit idea for a crisp spring morning. Finish the look above with white crew socks, loafers, gold hoops, and a Longchamp Le Pliage tote bag.

8. t-shirt + button-down + pearls + sunglasses + straw bag + boat shoes

Speaking of spring looks, reach for your white jeans when you want to style Cloud Dancer later this year! This pair in “Bone” from Everlane is the perfect off-white with neutral undertones. On top, reach for another one of my personal favorites from Everlane – their box-cut white tee. And if you want more recommendations on our favorite t-shirts at MCO, you can find them here.

This look hits all the right coastal vibes for spring and summer. If you’re battling a breeze off the water or heading to an early morning farmer’s market, add a breezy striped button-down on top of your neutral base. A straw bag, pearl earrings, and boat shoes complete the ensemble.

9. button-down + jeans + sweater + hoops + baseball cap + sneakers

On the topic of white jeans, here’s another way to style a look with Cloud Dancer denim! Create a casual chic look for a weekend off with a coordinating Oxford shirt and denim. Then layer on a pullover sweater for extra warmth and dimension. To keep things casual, go for sneakers and a baseball cap. Gold hoops are the cherry on top!

10. cape coat + jeans + pearl earrings + bracelet cuff + ankle boots + handbag

Pantone describes Cloud Dancer as a “billowy white”. If you want to lean into that definition when it comes to the construction of your outfit, this gorgeous cape coat is the way to do it! It’s elegant, timeless, and has the perfect amount of drama to make a statement in your winter looks. Paired with jeans, it adds an elevated touch to your go-to denim.

To keep the Cloud Dancer theme going throughout the rest of your look, reach for an off-white leather handbag, leather booties, and pearl accessories.
