Spring is in full swing, and I’ve been having a great time dipping into my spring wardrobe! I pack my clothes away by season, so when the calendar (and the weather) changes, pulling out my new seasonal pieces makes me feel like I’ve just gone on a shopping spree. Of course, spring weather in the Midwest fluctuates – some days call for sleeveless tops, while others call for jeans and trench coats. Either way, that just means more inspiration for everyone! Scroll on to see what I’ve been wearing and loving lately.
1. white tee + jeans + trench coat + silk scarf + ballet flats
It truly doesn’t get more classic than this! I love jeans and a white tee as a capsule wardrobe base – especially when you can add chic pieces like cap-toe ballet flats, a trench coat, and a silk scarf. Even without the trench coat, the scarf and flats still elevate the look, making your wardrobe basics work smarter, not harder.
2. slip skirt + white t-shirt + sandals
Classy slip skirt, but make it casual. While I mentioned that I pack away my seasonal items, I do keep my capsule wardrobe basics out (as you should), and that includes a slip skirt. I wear a slip skirt in the cooler seasons with sweaters and tall boots, and now, in the warmer months, it looks great paired with simple, casual pieces for a more relaxed vibe.
3. jeans + striped shirt + trench coat + boat shoes + boat tote
I’ll never not love a jeans, striped shirt, and trench coat combo. It’s timeless, stylish, and Parisian chic! To add a spring touch on this cooler spring day, I paired the combo with boat shoes and a boat tote.

4. black pants + white t-shirt + trench coat + striped sweater + sneakers
I’m getting great use out of a white t-shirt, can’t you tell? As you can see, the styling options truly are endless. From black pants to skirts to jeans, you can pair a white tee with virtually anything, and it adds the perfect mix of classic polish to your look.
5. leggings + oversized button up + trench coat + clogs + baseball cap + boat tote
Mixing casual and chic is something I always like to do, but especially on my “mom” days. It’s the best way to look (and feel) more elevated. Leggings, socks, and clogs create a casual base, while an oversized button-up and trench coat add the chic. The Ralph Lauren baseball cap and boat tote add a preppy spring touch.
6. gingham dress + mary jane flats + headscarf + straw bag
Gingham is the perfect spring print, and I always feel more girly when I wear it. To lean into the vintage look, I paired this gingham dress with a headscarf, straw bag, and Mary Jane flats. Perfect amounts of feminine and springy!
7. floral dress + ballet flats + straw bag
Tell me – is there anything better than a beautiful spring day and the intoxicating scent of cherry blossoms? Not much… except maybe throwing on a floral dress! An easy spring dress paired with a cute straw bag and flats has been one of my go-to combinations on hot days lately.
8. off-white jeans + striped shirt + clogs + trench coat + baseball cap + boat tote
Now, when it’s not a hot day, I’m leaning on my trench coat. You’re seeing me wear these pieces again and again – striped shirt, clogs, trench coat, boat tote, and baseball cap – and I’m proud of it! Hopefully, this helps you see how you can rewear your favorite wardrobe pieces over and over again.
9. red cardigan + jeans + red ballet flats
I’m all for a coordinating moment. A cardigan (or top) paired with matching shoes is a simple yet chic way to instantly make your outfit look more put-together.
10. striped sweater + white skirt + straw bag
I think if you have a white skirt and a striped sweater, you don’t need anything else for spring. Okay, that’s an exaggeration, but my point is that these two pieces are workhorses in your spring wardrobe (and even summer)! Versatile, they can be worn with almost anything in your closet. Pair them together, and you have a stylish, classic outfit that would be cute for a dinner, casual weekend shopping, or even a vacation in the Hamptons.
