When it comes to putting together outfits, you can never go wrong with a chic one! Here are some quick and easy tips to follow that will have you putting together your own chic outfit in no time.
How to: Chic Outfit for Fall
Wear all (or mostly all) black
I don’t make the rules, but black is just that color that will always make you look chic and classic. Though I guess technically you could say Chanel made the rules when she turned the color black into a style statement with her little black dress in 1926. Up until then, black was generally a color for grief, domestic servants, and girls that worked retail on the floor.
You want to look chic? Wear all or mostly all black. Don’t trust me. Trust Chanel! 😉
Shoes that add height
Whether you go for heels or boots, make sure to have something with a little height. Not only does it make you stand up straighter, but it elevates your whole look!
Also thanks to Chanel, tweed is now a fabric that symbolizes chicness. In the past, tweed was a material associated with outdoor activities such as hunting and shooting in places like Scotland and Ireland. Now when you see something tweed most people think of Coco Chanel’s jackets, suits, and bags.
Whether you have a tweed blazer, tweed dress, or tweed bag (or all), you are one step closer to having a chic outfit!
Black sunglasses…pearl earrings…red lipstick…all of these small things add up to one chic look!
This outfit could also work for winter too. It wouldn’t be the best chic look for spring and summer as it’s a bit too heavy…but I have other posts that can help you look chic all year long. Check them out below!
