You know what they say… “What goes around, comes around!” And while that saying could apply to a lot of situations in life, it’s especially true when it comes to fashion. After all, I remember when clogs were having a moment back in the early 2010s, and now here we are again, with clogs once again taking front stage in 2025 fall fashion. However, just because clogs are “back” doesn’t mean they ever really went away! After all, what’s not to love about a shoe that’s easy to slip on, super comfy to wear, and perfectly toes the line of casual and chic for autumn fashion? If you’ve ever wanted a little help styling the classic fall shoe, we’re here to help with 9 clog outfits to get you started.
1. denim jacket + white shirt + jeans + gold hoops + clogs + saddle bag

There are so many different styles of clogs to choose from – from the Birkenstock Boston clog to something a little more elevated with a heel. After a little searching, you’re sure to find a kind of clog that fits your personal style.
For those who prefer something with a slightly retro vibe, a wooden sole and suede top give off the perfect 70s aesthetic. And if you want to lean into that look, try styling them with an all-denim outfit! For a casual chic fall ensemble, go for a matching dark-wash set of jeans and a lady jacket. The lady jacket lends your look that chic vibe, as it’s a little more sophisticated than your standard denim variety. Add a saddle bag and gold jewelry to complement the groovy glam look.
2. half-zip sweater + t-shirt + clogs + necklace + jeans + tote bag

When it comes to casual clogs, a pair of Birkenstock clogs (the Boston style in particular) might just be one of the most versatile shoes for fall and spring. They’re comfortable, easy to slip on, and the perfect shoe to pair with your everyday outfits. And not just your casual pieces, either! You can pair them with other wardrobe staples like your midi and maxi dresses, too.
If you’re headed out to run errands on a Saturday morning, Birkenstock Bostons are the ideal shoe for an effortlessly chic look. Pair them with your favorite straight-leg jeans, white t-shirt, and a half-zip sweatshirt or sweater. It’s still super comfy, but it’s a slightly more elevated alternative to your typical athleisure. Add some simple accessories and you’re ready to head out for a productive start to your weekend!
3. barn jacket + cable knit sweater + jeans + clogs + scarf + saddle bag

Birkenstock Bostons might be one of the most popular styles of clogs, but there are plenty of other styles to choose from, too! Ugg makes the Golden Star clog, which is a great option if you prefer the added stability of a strap. They’re still just as comfortable, but are a little easier to walk in if you like the extra support.
Fall might just be one of the best times to enjoy a leisurely Sunday stroll to look at the fall colors, and a comfy pair of clogs is the perfect shoe for one of my own favorite fall activities. The British countryside aesthetic serves as the best inspiration for a long weekend walk to pair with your clogs. Denim, a classic barn jacket, and a cozy cable knit sweater will keep you warm in the chilly autumn air.
4. oxford shirt + sweater vest + pearl earrings + jeans + tote bag + clogs

If your style leans a little more toward chic than casual in the classic “casual chic” style descriptor, you might want to look into the Birknestock Naples. While the Bostons might have dominated last year’s clog scene, the Naples are this year’s hot topic in the world of the classic shoe.
Part clog, part loafer, this posh take on the traditional clog pairs well with the more sophisticated pieces in your closet – like your favorite Oxford shirt and sweater vest.
5. floral dress + suede bag + gold jewelry + clogs

Clogs aren’t limited to your casual looks – if you’re meeting up with friends for brunch, a pair of clog heels can be a fun accessory to spice up your favorite midi or maxi dress! A leather version with studs adds an edge to your floral outfit, and the heel height will make your legs look longer and slimmer. Plus, heels are a great choice when you know you don’t have to do much walking!
You can use your other accessories to add new textures to your outfit – this is always a great strategy to make your look more interesting. Try to match the metallic elements in your extra pieces – the gold studs on your clogs call for gold jewelry! As for your purse, your handbag adds a soft, supple texture in suede.
6. t-shirt + white jeans + blazer + baseball cap + clogs + tote bag

Clogs are a great shoe to wear in transitional weather. They give you more coverage than sandals, but aren’t quite as warm as a tall pair of boots. That’s why they work especially well in your fall and spring outfits! Just like white jeans, clogs can help transition your outfits from season to season.
And speaking of other transitional wardrobe staples, like a blazer can bridge the gap between summer and fall, and winter and spring, clogs can be worn for most of the year on in-between weather days.
7. blazer + sweater + jeans + clogs + handbag + watch + crew socks

If you have a more relaxed office dress code, you can try styling certain clog styles for the office! The Naples Clogs might be the best fit for a professional environment, because of how closely they resemble a pair of loafers. Just make sure your dress code allows for backless shoes.
As for the rest of your look, reach for your favorite casual Friday staples. A pair of well-fitting jeans with no holes or rips, a cozy sweater, and a navy blazer make for the perfect fall outfit combo. Accessorize with your work bag and a small handbag if you need it, and don’t forget a classic bracelet watch. And for the final touch, ribbed crew socks help give you a little extra warmth if your office runs cold!
8. mariner shirt + cropped trench + jeans + clogs + red socks + leopard print bag

You already know that we love French-inspired looks here at MCO, so if you’ve been wondering how to style your clogs in a Parisian-approved way, you’re in the right place! French women are known for their effortlessly chic looks, whether they’re dressing for work or the weekend. That’s why clogs are the perfect choice to complement one of their go-to outfit combos: a pair of jeans and a mariner shirt.
Grab an espresso and head to your favorite vintage stores in this easy outfit idea. If it’s a little chilly out, just throw on another French favorite – the classic trench coat. Bonus points if you add a colorful pair of socks with your clogs!
9. coat + sweater + scarf + sunglasses + cuffed jeans + clogs + crew socks

There’s been a lot of neutral ideas on this list, so let’s end things on a colorful note! A pair of neutral clogs can be the perfect shoe to balance out your other color-filled accessories. Especially in the wintertime, a fun pop of color is the perfect way to brighten up an outfit if it’s cold and dreary outside. A color-drenched scarf not only makes your whole outfit look brighter, but it’ll also instantly lift your mood and spirits!
The scarf might be the star of the show, but a pair of clogs does all of the important stagehand work as a pair of comfortable, cozy shoes for the chilly fall or winter weather.
Clogs For Every Budget
The clogs from brands like Ugg and Birkenstock are great quality, but do have a higher price tag to match. Most fall in the range of $100-$175. They can definitely be a great investment if you’re ready to spend a little more – I owned my first pair of Birkenstocks for 10 years, four of which were spent hiking all over a college campus. However, if you’re looking to spend a little less, there are plenty of similar styles out there at a much lower price point. Check out a few options below!

Hello,
Love your blog. I have been putting together the pieces that you suggest.
Thank you so much.
Thanks so much, Iris. I’m pleased to hear this has been helpful for you!
I hope you can help me! I have a pair of clogs I love. They are so comfortable & give my 5’2″ self a little lift. My problem/question: do all wooden sole clogs clip clop when you walk or is it just me? I hope you and your community can help / enlighten me. Thanks for the inspiration.
Hi Laura! Unfortunately the clip clop sounds are just a side effect of the wooden sole and our natural gaits, but there are some DIY products out there you can try adding to the bottom of the sole to lessen the noise, like anti-slip rubber pads or sole grips. A cobbler could also help if you want a more permanent fix!
