As a new parent, date night takes on a whole new meaning. When you get a night out and don’t have to worry about your outfit getting spit up on it, if it’s nursing appropriate, or if you can chase some kiddos around, you get to have a little fun with it. Not too long ago hubby and I got to have a night out (thanks mom!) and I had a lot of fun getting to pick out something to wear. The options! The possibilities! I can wear heels? Who is this girl! Here’s what I wore + some date night outfit tips that I wanted to share with you!
Date Night Outfit Idea
Probably not a total surprise that I chose black, but it’s a great going out color (when in doubt wear black).
We were grabbing dinner in a pretty big college town and I didn’t want to be overdressed so jeans were a safe bet (they can easily be dressed up or down).
On a cool fall night, you want your outerwear to be part of your outfit, not just a discarded afterthought (a type of moto jacket is a great choice- it’s cool, sleek, and perfect for a night out…save the cardis for the coffee shop! 😉 )
Don’t forget about your actual top too. I went for a strappy satin-esque top because I wanted to layer it over my lacy bralette for a little *ahem* appeal 😉
I felt like accessories didn’t have to be a lot. Just a simple gold chain to pop against the black and a red lip of course!

This outfit served me well in downing a huge bowl of pasta. Thank goodness I went with a loose top.
