With summer comes straw bags, espadrilles, linen, and stripes. Oh yes, lots of stripes. Over the month, I’ve been wearing my fair share of stripes and snapping pics of my daily outfits (#ootd) that I’ve worn everywhere from a doctor’s appointment to a girl’s trip to Chicago. I talk a lot about rewearing clothes and styling the basics and here, I’m putting my money (err clothes) where my mouth is. Here are some of my favorite summer outfits lately. I hope you get inspired by some new outfit ideas to try out!
1. slip dress + sandals + wicker bag
This is one of my favorite classy looks for summer! I wore this slip dress sitting in a car for hours, and it really is wrinkle-resistant as the description says. Just a few very minimal wrinkles is a win in my book.

The dress is almost perfect. It’s comfortable and non-clingy, truly a classy staple. My only gripe is that I wish the straps were adjustable as sitting down they slide down my shoulders a little.
I finished the look with brown leather sandals (the coloring has started to rub underneath my toes FYI) and a wicker bag for interest and texture.

2. knit striped set + espadrille flats + straw bag
This set is gone so I liked a similar one, but this has been a well-worn set this summer. In fact, you’ll see it again in the post! #rewearforthewin

A knit set is comfortable but way more elevated than joggers, sweats, or running shorts. The stripes are classic (of course) and pair well with a straw bag and espadrille flats. Summer chic!
3. striped crop top + striped sweater + high-waisted linen pants
Bet you can’t guess what my favorite print is for summer, can you? (Hint: it’s stripes)

For a fresh look and to shake up my go-to print, I layered contrasting stripes on top of each other and I loved the outcome! Paired with high-waisted linen-inspired pants, this looks is all kinds of comfy and stylish. This was a 4th of July look!

4. cut-out floral swimsuit + coin necklace
For a family pool day, I chose this long-sleeved cut-out swimsuit and I think it hit all the right notes. Modest enough without being frumpy.

5. white tee + linen shorts + striped sweater + espadrille sandals + tote bag
Draping a printed sweater over your shoulders is a great way to add some interest to your outfit. Not to mention if it gets chilly out, you already have your extra layer handy!

6. blue striped button-down + high-waisted shorts + pendant necklace
I’ve been obsessed with French blue this summer and well, stripes. But the stripes part is a given. Such a fresh trade-off for the timeless white button-down! Tucked into vintage high-waisted shorts, this look is quirky yet classic.

7. linen button down + knit shorts + straw bag
Once again, knit shorts for the win. It’s such a refreshing take on your running shorts without sacrificing comfort. I love to pair them with a linen button-down to not only dress them up but add that summer touch as well.

8. knit striped set + sandals + crossbody
Proud to be an outfit repeater! This is my go-to look if I have a playdate at the park (just switch out for sneakers) or an appointment (just started trying acupuncture).

It’s easy, casual, and yet still cute. I love the stripes on stripes look with my Chanel bag. Plus it adds the right amount of class!
9. blue striped button-down & shorts set + bucket hat
But can we talk about French blue stripes again? So timeless. A bucket hat adds a fresh touch to this look and channels Coastal Grandmother.

Can’t 100% recommend the quality but it is cute. Months back I fell into a little bit of a fast-fashion shopping spree. So much so that I wrote this post: Is Your Shopping Getting Out of Control? Here’s How To Get It Back on Track.
I’m back to picking higher-quality picks now, but if you’re clicking on links and seeing more Shein pieces that is why!

10. midi skirt + linen button-down + head scarf
For church, I took inspiration from Grace-Kelly-Vacations-In-Monaco and put together this vintage-inspired look. If you want a classy way to do summer style, then use this outfit formula.

This striped midi skirt from my H&M capsule wardrobe is a winner. I just adore it!

11. dalmatian print swimsuit
Stylish swimwear but make it sun protection.

12. tank top + slip skirt + sandals + crossbody bag
I love pairing casual items with dressy pieces for a look that is all kinds of stylish. A basic ribbed tank top makes the slip skirt more casual, looking appropriate for day time.

Alternatively, the slip skirt dresses up the tank. Striking the right balance of casual and chic!

13. slip dress + lace-up sandals + silk scarf
Pulled out my Everlane slip dress again this month. I love that it’s not clingy and can match different shoe styles, whether it’s sneakers or lace-up sandals. A striped silk scarf adds some pattern and class!

14. linen dress + woven loafers
A linen dress is an easy one-and-done outfit for summer. For early mornings that are a little chilly, I like to opt for loafers in a woven material. They add a polished look to your outfit while still being summer-appropriate.

15. striped crop top + linen button-down + wide-leg pants + head scarf + sandals
For a girl’s trip to Chicago, I opted for a look that’s a little bit trendier than I usually go for. But with a classic print and classic pieces, I still managed to keep it on the classic side too.

16. green blazer & short set
Proof I wear color! Only for special occasions. 😉 For a GNO, I opted for this matching suit set with leopard print heels. I loved this look and am definitely looking for an occasion to repeat it!
