Here at My Chic Obsession, I love talking about the things I’m obsessed with because, most of the time, I know you’ll be too. 😉 Not because I think I’ve got something special, but because classic fashion lovers (like us) tend to love the same things. Speaking of the same things, every time summer rolls around, I find myself excited (and somewhat giddy) about the same wardrobe staples each year. These are the pieces I not only love, but also think you’ll love too.
1. White Skirts

My white maxi skirt is easily one of my most-worn pieces in my warm-weather wardrobe. It’s comfortable, cute, and easy to wear – the perfect recipe for endless looks! I can’t even tell you all the places I’ve worn it (or how) – from Italy to coffee dates to weekend shopping – this is a true wardrobe workhorse that future you will thank you for.
2. Linen Shorts

I love my denim shorts, but if I had to choose, I’d say I’m more of a linen-shorts girl than a denim-shorts girl. I prefer the flow and ease of linen (or cotton) shorts over denim, and I don’t mind the wrinkles. (That being said, you won’t find me getting rid of my denim!) Just like everything else on this list, linen shorts can be paired with virtually anything in your wardrobe – from tank tops to sweaters to button-ups and more.
3. Linen Pants

Sensing a theme here? I love my linen. From casual weekends to shopping days to days at home, I reach for my linen pants more than I’d like to admit because they’re comfortable and breathable. I like to look for an elastic waist for extra comfort and neutral colors for extra versatility, ensuring I get the most wear out of them!

4. Linen Vests

A linen vest is one of my favorite ways to elevate a summer outfit. From jeans to midi skirts to shorts, I’ve worn it with almost everything! You can wear it on its own as a top or layer it over a T-shirt for extra coverage.

5. Straw Tote Bags

I have quite a collection of straw bags, and I’m almost embarrassed to tell you how many! That being said, I reach for my tote bag the most. I don’t know about you, but in the summer I want to carry so many different things with me – from my books to my sunglasses, sunscreen, notebook (for park bench journaling), and even my Poppi (Root Beer or Raspberry Rose, please) – I certainly have a lot to bring with me, and thankfully, a straw tote lets me do it in style.
6. Linen Dresses

Whether I’m staying home or going out, I love throwing on a linen dress. It’s easy, simple, comfy, and cute! There are so many reasons to love this piece, especially since it doesn’t need much to be dressed up or accessorized. However, I always fall back on my go-tos – straw bag, sunglasses, hoop earrings – and I always feel put together.
