My Husband Bought My Outfit for Date Night

Recently I *hinted* 😉 to Titus that I’d like him to take more initiative in date nights and to my surprise, not only did he plan and organize a date for us, but he went and surprised me with a dress that he bought for me too! *swoon*

He got me this Rachel Zoe linen dress from TJMaxx and I’m so obsessed with it! It’s totally my style and something I would buy myself. It totally fits my minimalistic style summer aesthetic too.

He took me to one of my favorite Italian restaurants nearby to recreate our romantic European adventures 🙂

We drank wine, ate way too many carbs, and talked about our future. I’d call that a successful date night! Mainly because of the carbs 😉

I think that is a crumb by my lip but I don’t want to edit this one again so I’m just going to leave it haha #winning

Usually, I let my hair go wild, but I tried something new by slicking it all back. I don’t do this a lot. I still have awkward baby hairs from postpartum hair loss and I guess my hair has become somewhat of a security blanket for me, but the hot summer weather just makes me want to get my hair off my face!

I decided to go casual, because where I live everyone is really casual, so I went with slides and layered gold jewelry. Well, I guess I did spice it up with a red lip because #datenight!

Do you try to make date nights happen? If so, are you more of a casual or dressy girl? Let me know!

  1. Love the dress, love the restaurant, and love the herbs on the outside terrace! Reminds me of a similar outing there long ago with you, your aunt, and cousin. We’re doing a Dubuque weekend in the not-too-distant future and eating outside at that restaurant is on the list!

    1. It’s great that you’re adding it to your list. It’s such a nice place to go. Thanks for the comment!

    2. This dress is absolutely beautiful on you! And even sweeter that your husband bought it for you! ? I love this! TJMaxx always has the best finds — it’s one of my very favorite stores!

  2. That is such a fun date night idea, and he picked out such a gorgeous outfit. I love simplicity in the summer, and it looks like an outfit made for an Italian vacation!

  3. Your husband has good taste – and definitely knows your style well! I adore this longer, chic dress on you so much – definitely something I would wear as well. And your hair looks lovely pulled back for this outfit. I think the entire ensemble is perfect for a date night out! I haven’t gotten dressed up for date night with my husband in ages!

  4. Hahaha I’m dying over your comment about the crumb! That being said, this is such a beautiful blog post. What a great idea too! I was talking to my Fiance about this idea where we go thrift shopping and choose each other’s outfits for a date night later that day. We’d set a budget, but the twist is we can get as ridiculous as possible with it! You’re totally inspiring me to just do it. Great blog post, Carolyn!
